An updated design for holding counters on a vertical magnetic board and accessories to improve the experience.

White-Natural-Clear

What is the difference between white and natural? Is clear really clear? Here is a picture to help you decide what you prefer. The map is the Unconditional Surrender: Case Blue from the most recent C3i. The hexes are a light green/tan. These are not the final design of Counter Magnet (they are some prototypes) nor will these be the exact colors you can expect, but they are as close as I can get before ordering the material.

Well really...
You did it!
Thank you so much for your support! This got much bigger than I thought it would, but I'm ready for it!
What's Next?
It will take up to 2 weeks for all the money to be collected and deposited into my business account. Once it's there, I will begin purchasing the magnets, 3D printers, plastic filament and various shipping supplies.
I'll be sending out a backer-only update soon with a quick survey of what colors you want (so I know what colors of filament to get and how much).
Custom Sizes
If you are getting a custom size, I would like to be sent some of the counters you wish to have magnetized (just some of the blank ones almost every game has, they will be returned either way). 3-10 will give me a good range to get a solid fit without squishing the counter. Alternately, if you have calipers (or a micrometer) you can measure about 10 counters and give me both the range of thickness and the range of size (measure both ways, as many counters are a little rectangular).
Round/Hex Counter Magnets
Apparently, even GMT games have various size hexagonal and round counters (!?), so please let me know the size of the counters you want to hold in these (if you ordered them). Within reason - no Settlers size hexes please - you will get the same number for custom sizes.
Fun with Counter Magnets
When assembling counters, put a magnet in just one side and you can pivot the counter it holds around (but you can't stack on top of it). You can use this for times when you prefer the counter to one of my pointer or arrow markers.

After the Kickstarter

Monster DIY Schedule Concern
I do not believe the DIY Monster pledges will make the October ship date I specified. Honestly, I set those dates with the intention of running the campaign entirely in August and failed to update them when the start date was pushed back. I have also discovered that each color of filament will have to be tweaked to provide the best fit for the magnets (too loose and they come out, too tight and the plastic cracks and they come out). This also means that I may have to re-print some colors once I receive the magnets (depending on final measurements).
That said, I believe that early to mid November is still possible for the DIY Monster pledges, and the rest of the pledges should be much closer to schedule.
New Accessory (for Later?)
After all Kickstarter rewards are fulfilled, I will be offering all the Counter Magnets and Accessories seen here on my website countermagnets.com. So here is a sneak peek at something I'll be refining.
Counter Magnets for Mounted Boards
Shown on a 2.5mm (0.095") thick No Retreat: North Africa mounter map. The larger magnets make them unsuitable for smaller hexes and they can only be stacked a few high (~4 for 1/2" and ~3 for 3/4" as shown in the picture). The map must be flush with the magnetic surface. The Arab-Israeli Wars map I tried was a little bowed in the center and would not work without me holding it flat around the Counter Magnets.
If you would want these instead of the smaller ones, leave a comment below and I may make that an option (they will stack even better on paper maps, but the larger magnets come with an increased cost). I will also be working on an accessory set to allow the regular Counter Magnets to be used with mounted maps, but it's a little more involved...

Just 35 hours left and Stretch Goal #4

Finishing Soon
Tell your friends! Even $1 will let them lock-in the Kickstarter pricing. I am really thankful for all of the support this campaign has gotten. I guess people are still interested in gaming on the wall!
Stretch Goal #4
If the campaign reaches $9000, every backer at $40 or above will get a free sample pack (see the $6 pledge level) to pass along to a friend or to add a few more Counter Magnets to their pledge. My choice of color (probably black or white).
